I've talked with a lot of people who think that Kaplan's tests are too easy but I felt that they are quite representative of the actual test.

well if thats the case i should be in good shape :) i hope....

Looking for some expert advice from those who have already taken this test. Is it possible to do well after taking only US History I and then using prep books to try to cover the rest? My son won't take US II until senior year but needs a second SAT II to take this spring as a junior. Thanks for leveling with me.

I like Sparknotes, Im taking US History and I do great in it but I just took an SAT II book to ease some of my tension and to ensure an 800

yeah its definately possible for History SAT IIs to do that.. I got an 800 on World History without taking a class. There might be better options for him if he isnt that well versed in history though. Have him take a practice test and see where he is at. If he is around 600s before prep he should definately sign for the test and prep a bit

I used only the dummies book- no APUSH- and got a 720. i found the actual test harder than both tests in the dummies book and much harder than the test from the collegeboard.
dummies test 1- 740
dummies 2- 780
collegeboard (test in real SATII)- 750

1/28/06- 720

i dont really know what happened- i was expecting around a 750. maybe i should've used kaplans- the dummies focused too much on trends, and not enough on details of specific events.
good luck.
