Since housing applications are available on May 1st for Uva I was wondering what is the best on campus housing option for a third year transfer. Uva has transfer student communities in Johnson & Weedon and Lambeth Field Apartments but I don’t know which is better. A lot of people seem to have mixed opinions about Johnson & Weedon. Which housing do you all think is the most beneficial to transfers?
As a transfer student, I chose to live in a residential college. I liked it - the residential college provided a supportive environment, social activities, and easy opportunities to meet other students (both transfers and non-transfers). I would recommend Brown and the IRC.
Hello, I am currently living in Brown residential college. It is centrally located On Grounds, and probably less than a 10 minute walk from anything you would need to get to. The rooms are single, and all the buildings have air conditioning. The community is also fantastic and really supportive! I am signed up to live there next fall, but I was offered a spot in one of the band houses, so I won’t be living there next year. However, I need to find someone to take my spot in Brown to get out of the contract. Normally there is an application process for Brown, but since I already have a contract, whoever I get won’t need to fill out an application. I’m looking for someone to take my spot if this interests you!
My understanding is that Brown is by application and approval by students there so how would you be able to transfer a lease. My guess is that the student governing body has a wait list no?
The waitlist for male upperclassmen is now empty. If you are still looking for a room in Brown I would gladly transfer my contract to you. Similar situation to OP, the room is in the Harrison complex.
Yes my son has an interest. Please message me
@mmcUVA20 Is your contract male exclusive?
My son is interested in living in Brown, if you’re still looking for someone to take your spot. Thanks!
