hey, just wondering what is the best way to get from the airport to BU…also if im in SMG where should i go first for my upcoming orientation next week… i kinda have an idea about much of this already…but any input would be greatly appreciated

3 Options:

Cab (expensive)

Bus (usually too complicated if you don't know where you're going)

T (recommended). There is a T stop (or a bus to the T stop, depending on your terminal) at the Airport. Take it inbound to Government Center, get off and hop on the Green Line (B train) outbound. It will take you right to BU. You will probably need to go to where your housing is for check-in.

T..check, just wondering along the lines of travel, does anyone know when the earlier check in time is? or where to go? Erg, my flight gets in at 7 am so yea =x.

To be complete, you have to take the bus to the T. Make sure you get on the one that goes to the T because there is one that merely circles all the terminals. The buses are outside, usually on the far curb from the terminal. The buses are run by MassPort and they're easy to identify.

You buy a Charlie Card at the dispensing machines. Take the Blue Line Inbound - the T is always Inbound to Park Street (Boston Common) and Outbound from Park Street. That means you cross over the tracks to the far side or you'll end up at Wonderland. The Green Line is upstairs from the Blue Line at Government Center. There's an Escalator. Make sure you get on a B train to go up Comm. Ave.

Registration is at Rich Hall - it was for the current session. Take the T to Babcock Street. These stops are all aboveground. You can tell Babcock Street because you'll have just passed Agannis Arena on the right. Rich Hall is on the river side of street on the right. Go up the stairs and around to the left.

Call them and ask at 617-353-3555 for times. They're very well organized.

This won't work for orientation, but during the school year when you fly in, wear a BU sweatshirt and stand in the cab line outside of baggage claim. Someone will come up to you (or you'll see someone in BU stuff) and ask you to share a cab, without fail. I did it every time I flew back to school and only had to pay about $7 dollars a ride. It is the best way to get back to campus, plus you make a new friend.

I forgot to mention:

If you ever need to know how to get somewhere, go to www.mbta.com and click on "Trip Planner" and then "Trip Planning." You can enter any combination of addresses, T stations, commuter rail stations or landmarks and it will tell you how to get there using public transportation and how long it will take.

thanks ryanbis.. and everyone else.. i appreciate it
