Hello there!
I will be going into my senior year of high school this fall and have been considering Northeastern for a while now. My main question is what would be the best way to combine business and psychology. Seeing as Northeastern does not have a degree for Industrial and Organizational psychology, I was wondering if the best way to go about this combination would be a major/minor combo or a dual major. Or even if it would just be in my best interest to choose one or the other. Also if any of you have majored in either business or psychology at Northeastern, would you recommend it? Thank you in advance for your time, i look forward to hearing from you guys :)

Hi- I’m going into my 2nd yr at NU this fall & I came in as a psych major and declared a double major in business this summer (ironic!). If I were you, I’d double major in Psych & Business. It’s far from easy but since NU is $$$$ you’d be getting your moneys worth to a point. Plus- two degrees means two separate fields for job/career options. Furthermore, I think that the two degrees would make you a competitive/top candidate for Ind/Org Psych. If this is the path you want to take I’d recommend you declare the double major immediately upon arrival at NU because I waited so long which is making it very difficult to cram in all the Psyc and Bus requirements. Also- I would DEFINITELY recommend the psychology major. I’ve LOVED it so far- there have been absolutely no complaints. Just pay attention, take notes, do your reading, and study hard. Good luck!!!

Psychology and Business is also great for people going into marketing and advertising, not just industrial psychology/HR.

thank you both and bobbied if you don’t mind me asking, which two concentrations will you be pursuing for your business major?
