I am flying into BWI but I cant rent a car so I need public transportation to campus. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Would taxi be really expensive?

I’m pretty sure you can catch a bus from BWI to the Metro and come down that way. I’m not sure how expensive it would be to take a taxi, but BWI isn’t terribly close to UMD, so it could be a lot. Definitely more than Metro!

Take Blue Van Shuttle. It goes to everywhere near three major airports (BWI, IAD, AND DCA). IT costs between $30~40 one way. You could arrange a back trip pickup with
Blue Van. Search internet for more info.

Transportation to BWI is available by connecting to the Greenbelt Metro Station from College Park on the Green Metrorail Line and taking the B30 Express Metrobus to BWI Airport. I assume that you can reverse this to get to the campus from BWI.

Thank you for all the information

I do this about 10 times a year. Take the B30 bus from BWI to the Greenbelt Metro Station (costs $6). Take the Metro one stop to College Park ($1.85). Theres a free shuttle from the College Park Metro Station to the campus

Good info -I had looked the shuttle to the Baltimore airport up as well. Looks to be quick as it is basically an express.

Question on taking Amtrak - same free shuttle to the Metro; one stop to the Amtrak station and then off to where ever correct?

33dmjjm - have you had your visit yet -you were from CA right?
