Does anyone in the know (ie. admissions officers or related folks) have any suggestions as to the best things to do to enhance your chances of getting off the Wait List?

I know sending a letter expressing interest is helpful, of course, but anything else to recommend?

Personalized note every day threatening to bomb the school/ set it on fire if you don't get admitted.

My understanding of the way wait lists work at places like Harvard is that once the acceptances come in they look at what sort of a class they have. At that point they use the wait list to balance the class. They might decide they need another oboe, or swimmer, or a computer scientist. No way to predict.
