Just study Direct Hits. It’s only about 400 words, and usually performs well on the SAT’s

Well, you’ve taken on a daunting task Do remember though, that you’re not really learning 3500 words…you should already know a lot of them! Learning a list of words like that is a major challenge because the words aren’t organized in any meaningful way. So one thing you can try is to organize them yourself! By relating unknown words to known ones, you’ll create connections that can really help on test day. Try writing sentences, or even stories, using the words you’re trying to learn. You can also try grouping the words into categories to make them easier to remember…i.e. create a list of words that all have something to do with traveling or eating or whatever (this is why I really like word-nerd.com - they do the categorizing for you!). Do a word a day that you learn when you’re having breakfast, then be sure to use it in conversation during the day. You can also make your own flashcards of your word-a-day so you can go back and review them from time to time. Hope that helps a bit and lots of luck!

Direct Hits is more effective but if you are going to stick with Grubers the best way is…
get off this board and start making flashcards.
