Best way to learn Calculus 1 on your own?

I need to learn at leas the basics of Calculus 1 to take calculus based physics. I was looking at the Calculus for Dummies. Does anyone have any book recommendations or online resources to help me learn it?

Calculus 1 is really easy. Just get an AP Calculus AB textbook and read through it carefully, taking notes and doing exercises.

I think you can get the gist of calculus with something like Calculus for Dummies, but you won’t make it through physics with just that. You have to spend a lot of time doing calculus problems to learn how to apply it.

Could you take Calc I over the summer at a local community college? Even as an audit?

Would a combination of Open Courseware (search engine findable) and Sylvanus Thompson’s book from a hundred years ago (available as a copyright expired pdf) “Calculus Made Easy” be worth your time?

Khan Academy.

MIT’s Open Courseware.

EdX or Coursera classes.

Buy a book by Stewart or Larson on Calculus I/II. Get an older version.

@simba9 Hmm, so even if cal 1 and physics 1 are corequisites?
@bkjmom I’m not familiar with audit? What is that? I thought about taking it in the summer, but my adviser said not to.
@50N40W Definitely and thank you so much for the help! Do you recommend any particular opencourseware?
@CalDud Thanks!
