My daughter took the ACT last December for the first time. She did absolutely no prep and got a 27 composite score. She is planning on trying the ACT again this October and actually prepping this time. She attends a residential arts hs and is in academic (3 AP's and 1 honors) and dance classes until 6pm each day. She has dance on Saturdays from 10-4. She is also on student council, the school honors council, and is on a community youth commission board. I mention all this to say she doesn't have unlimited number of hours to spend on test prep. Any suggestions for focused prepping that will help raise her score? Would love for her to be able to get a 31 or 32. Thanks!

Maybe try doing 1-2 sections a day, and reviewing mistakes? Also check out the Barrons ACT 36 book, it’s great for English and Math. Concise, to the point, and the questions are harder than actual so it’s a great way to prepare.

Practice practice practice using prep guides and after you finish a guide take a real act test from the red book to see if you improved.
