Best way to prep for SAT?

I'm a junior in high school, taking March 2010 SAT.

My PSATs:
9th: 139 (45 critical reading, 49 math, 45 writing)
10th: 136 (42 critical reading, 51 math, 43 writing)
11th: 181 (56 critical reading, 63 math, 62 writing)

The only preparation I have had was taking two practice tests, without even going through them to see what I did wrong.

My goal is to have at least 700 on each section, is that reasonable?

What are the best ways to dramatically raise scores? (books, courses, etc.)

Math: Check out Gruber’s book as I hear it’s very good for math.

CR: Do lots of reading between now and you first SAT sitting. Assuming you take one Junior year and another Senior year, do lots of reading over the summer as well. Buy the Official SAT Guide (the blue book) and do a few of the practice tests. Go over the questions you got wrong and try to understand why they were wrong. You can also buy the SAT answer explanation book if you want.

Writing: For vocab, use Direct Hits volumes 1 and 2, and for sentence errors etc. use the Sparknotes Seven Deadly Screw-ups. Do a little bit of essay practice (I think there’s a guide stickied on CC) as it’s an important component of your writing score.

I was in a similar position to you. I got 192 for my Junior PSAT, then 2000 Junior year, then 2190 Senior year (700+ all sections). Now I’ve got a 2240 superscore, so I’m satisfied, and it didn’t require a massive amount of work - just consistent preparation over a long period of time.
