Hi everyone I was wondering if you guys can throw a few names around so i can decide how to prep for the GMAT from the word around i hear its better and easy to just use some books and prep rather than taking a classroom course. Is that true? Also if u recommend books which do u recommend or if u recommend classes which ones (Princeton, Kalpan, Powerscore, Testmasters others?)...thanx for ur help!

I used both Kaplan and Princeton Review... the CDs with their tests were very useful as were the books.

I also took a course offered through the university and found the strategy suggestions they gave very useful and very practical.

IMO, most people can probably get by without the class. However, if take the practice tests and find that you are crunched for time, or have issues getting essays writen quickly then I would suggest taking a class.

Also, I took the class first. It motivated me more to study and take the test then did posting messages on a forum somewhere. Thus, for me, it was really a spur in the butt.

I'll add another highly recommended course......the Manhattan GMAT course. If you live near a city that offers in class teaching, then you are in luck. They offer an online course also.
