I was just wondering -
for anyone who has gotten 750+ on both the SAT Bio and Math II tests-

what kind of prep did you do (books, notes, cards, etc.)?

bio. i used kaplan's and was already in the AP class. i would suggest taking many rpactice tests, as this test, contrary to belief, is simply not memorization. it has alot of practical applciation which isnt that ez all the time on the test. know ur stuff well and then make sure u can apply it. i hear barron's is good too, but i only had kaplan. i got a 770

math2. i used kaplan. many will tell u barron's - i say fine. if u can use it, do so. i found it too difficult and i was not helped much, especialyl because i had an 89 and it guided u for the 83. if u finihsed precalc u should know almost everything on here. i got 800.

as always, take as many practice tests as possible and learn from ur mistakes. happy hunting

I used Barron's and got an 800. It's way harder than the real deal, like 150+ points harder, so don't be discouraged. Also, you can ignore the logic problems it uses, those never showed up on my test. Barron's is good because its difficulty does a good job of pointing out all the areas you need review on. But really, there's no substitute for paying attention in your math class.

thanks very much for your input.

I cannot speak for Biology because I have never taken it myself personally. However, for Math II test it really depends on your background. If you have done pre-calculus material (trigonometry, coordinate geometry, etc) and have done well in these areas, you should be fine. The best book out there is probably Kaplan (I got 800 using Kaplan though I do have a strong math background); Barrons is way overboard and contains too much unnecessary material. Another good preparatory source is the sparknotes sample tests for Math II. Best of luck in both of these exams.

Use Sparknotes practice tests, they are pretty close to the actual thing. You get a free practice test each time you create an account. I got an 800 in Bio without taking AP Bio by using PR and Sparknotes.
