I'm taking the SAT for the second and final time October 5 and need a good score, at least an 1800 but shooting for a 2000. I've taken it once before (didnt study) and did alright but nowhere near what i need. What can I do between now and the test to increase my score a lot? First time I got a 1560 and I'm very confident I can do substantially better.

Go to the SAT-preparation subforum. At the top there are 2 threads on SAT study tips/programs to read.

Blue Book practice tests and review.

Yep, spend lots of time practicing and preparing yourself over the summer, it’s really the only way. I’ve used Barron’s SAT practice books, and they’ve helped me out a lot.

From 1560 to at least 1800 by October test is very difficult when you study by yourself. I think you should try to find a tutor and go through lot of real SAT tests.

Go through the Official SAT Question of the Day daily, if you feel you have missed some questions, browse them by date. It is definitely a worth practice.

How is that difficult? It’s only a 240 point increase.
