BEST way to show interest in a school

For a lot of schools I hear it is important to act very interested in going there. How do you go about doing this?

With your list of colleges, try not to act interested in them. Be interested in them. That way, you'll be happy with whichever ones accept you. Plus, more passion will unexpectedly show up in your essays because you will be applying to a school for more than just the reason that it's there.

However, there are a few ways to spark your interest in them. If the school holds an information session or a campus tour, go to it. Also, search through the websites of the colleges for just random information about them. This way, when they ask that question about "why - name of school -" on the application, you can bring up specific experiences, observations, and information about thecollege that impressed you. It will also show that you did research on the school before you applied.

While visiting is an obvious one, for financial concerns, it might not be a possibility (like for me). Really dig down deep to find out something that either 1.is super hard tof ind on it's website or 2.isn't on the website. Back to visiting, some schools look heavy upon this factor (think emory-known to reject good canidates and accept those with lesser stats because better canidate didn't show interest) however for a lot of the ivies (I can't say which ones off the top of my head) they don't record these things or they record but it really makes no difference in admissions
