I’m planning to apply to college as a Computer Science major - I have a passion for it, I think it’s a very important skill, and I see it being useful in the future as I look for a job.
That being said, I’m just way better at English than I am at Math. Case in point: I just got my SAT scores back and 780 of my 1500 is from the Reading and Writing sections.
That’s not to say that I’m BAD at math; I’m just way better at English.
Is this going to be considered a positive (more diverse skillset among Computer Science majors) or a negative (not a ridiculously talented mathematician/not picking a major that best suits my skills)?
It sure as heck won’t be a negative.
I was the same way – very high scores in CR and W on the old SAT, but had to work on M – and am doing pretty well as a junior in ChemE. Communication skills are always a plus. Good luck!
