better chance if you can pay full price?

I heard somewhere that acceptance rates were higher for kids not asking for any financial aid, and that schools like it when families can foot entire bill? Why do they ask if you plan on applying for Financial Aid on applications anyway?

At schools that aren't need blind, I'm sure that it's better to not need financial. Most top schools are need blind though, and I'm pretty sure they're honest about it. They need to know if you are applying for financial aid so they can send you papers and create an offer for you if you're accepted.

At all but a small number of colleges, money matters. At most, they will accept the qualified but not offer enough aid.
