Better chance of success? SAT or ACT?

Hi i recently took both the ACT and the SAT and i am uncertain as to which one i have more of chance of improving on. My target school is NYU which sat's scores are around 610-710, and their act scores are around 28-31.
on the act my composite score was 25.
math-22
reading-29

on sat
reading-690
writing-590
math-510

25 ~ 1710

So your SAT is better.

Not significantly, considering their SAT score is 1790. It really depends on which test you like better.

I think it really depends on you. Daughter took each once and, like you, scored a little higher on the SAT. But, the important issue was that she felt that it would be easier for her to improve her score on the SAT, primarily because the time constraints on the SAT were limited to the math section. She later re-took the SAT, significantly improved her score, and is happy with her decision to go with the SAT. Of course, since she did not re-take the ACT we do not know whether she could also have significantly improved that score as well.
