which has a better undergraduate engineering program?

irvine or santa barbara?

Santa Barbara I believe especially for chemical engineering.

cool; im thinking computer engineering

UCSB is definitely better

y do u say that

I actually have a friend that did computer engineering there. He loved it there and has a really good job now.

so youre saying santa barbara?

UCSB's graduate engineering program is in the top 20, irvine's is nowhere close to that. Also, UCSB is ranked #3 for Chem E i believe.

what about undergraduate?

The undergraduate rankings are similar i believe. UCSB is much stronger in the sciences than UCI. It also boasts one of the best physics programs in the country.

^I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. UCSB is definitely not "much stronger" than UCI in sciences. UCI's chemistry, biology, and computer science programs are all ranked higher than UCSB's

Additionally, something absolutely huge that you want to consider as an undergraduate in science is the UROP, Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program. Undergraduate research at Irvine is extremely prolific.

Take a look here:

UCSB is still much better in the engineering department though
