Better Nursing Program?

I recently got accepted to both sfsu and csulb for their pre-nursing programs. I’m debating on which one to go. Which program is better overall?

There both good programs, but the metric you’re really looking for is if entry to the actual Nursing program is capped.
What can happen is that a school admits all applicants who apply to pre-Nursing. What they don’t often share is if there is a finite number of students who will be allowed to move onto the main program. That means that even if you successfully complete the pre-requisites for program admission, if they cap the number of students they allow to move on, then you could be in a pickle. While I don’t mean to frighten you and don’t actually know the admission particulars re: the Nursing program at either SFSU or CSULB, I have seen this happen to students at Sonoma State.

I would phone and ask both programs what their policy is on admission to the Nursing program after the pre-req’s and if they limit the number of qualified students.

@hop makes a good point. Most Nursing candidates need to compete for a slot as the move from 'Pre-Nursing" to Nursing. There can be significant attrition at that point so, it is a great idea to validate your status before you commit. If you have been designated ‘direct admit’ to one… go there. If not, just be sure you understand the requirements and competitive environment.
