better pre-med major?

i'll be in CoE this fall and i'm considering which major i'm going to choose. i'm going to do pre-med also because i haven't decided between a career in medicine or engineering. i'm leaning towards cheme right now, but which major is usually best/ more common for engineering majors that do pursue medicine? i'm considering bio eng, chem eng, material sci & eng, and env eng.

chem/bio might give you a chance to pursue more medically related research to pump up your resume

Not really true. You can do research in any field regardless of your major.

Honestly, do the major that you like the most. You will not be any better prepared for med school by taking one of those majors instead of the others (although for chemE you are required to take orgo which is a premed requirement).

Your life is going to suck if you hate your major and are also trying to do pre-med requirements. If you then decide you don’t want to go into medicine, you will be angry at yourself for not choosing what you like to do.
