LSU, Ole Miss, Florida State? For all around education.

Florida State is definitely more selective, but I'm not sure if the academics are better.

My main academic interests are in English(specifically creative writing) and journalism but I want a school that is solid academically and also has a good atomosphere, will make me feel at home and is socially active. I have to say Ole Miss intrigues me the most but I don't know a whole lot about it. Opinions?

I'm bumping this, mostly because I'm applying to both Ole Miss and LSU-- Ole Miss is my favorite of the two--and I'm looking into journalism.

Mississippi as a state has an average ACT score of 18.8, so admissions at Ole Miss are almost shocking, at least to me. The Honors College looks solid--requires volunteering every semester, seems VERY community oriented (they posted an update about one of their students who was in an accident; it seemed like a family newsletter). They say their typical honors student has a 28 ACT and a high gpa, so I think there's quite a difference academically between the honors student and the regular student. I don't know how that pans out socially, but I'd be interested to see.

Anyway, I'm watching this thread, so I hope somebody knows more than I do.
