How does NYU compared to Barnard? I'm seriously suffering trying to make this decision.

I don't mind that NYU doesn't have a campus but I heard there are alot of TAs and its really impersonal. I come from a graduating class of 46 kids, sooo that might be an adjustment.

Any suggestions/ comments on either school?

I’ve heard Barnard girls are described as “mini-professionals”. I visited there as well and from what I saw, that description was spot on: the girls looked tailored and not sloppy, and were extremely polite (girls said hi, welcome to barnard, etc. while we walked by). The school seemed a little…stiffer than NYU but for some that environment is great. I know someone who goes there and loves it.

NYU has a more diverse crowd of people, but that’s because its such a large university as opposed to Barnard’s smaller crowd of less than 5,000. I don’t think that the TAs are a huge issue, I’m pretty sure they only do recitations with the students for large lecture classes.
