Hello College Confidential Community,
I have been up late thinking about what should I do with my life. I am very confused and need some advice or to see if anyone has experienced through what I am going through. I want to major in Medicine (Don’t know for sure) and am having trouble what to do. I want to see if I can do well in a CC so I can get transferred into a good college like UGA. The only problem is, since I want to go to medical school and they need me to take core classes in a university, should I go into a moderatly ranked university? Here are my stats:
Freshman Year:
Algebra I- 95
Latin I - 94
Geography - 93
Biology I - 86
Literature and Composition I - 89
Foundations of Manufacturing - 91
GPA: 3.79
EC: Flood
Sophomore:
AP Psychology - 85
Chemistry I Honors - 79
World History - 89.5
Geometry - 84
Robotics - 95
Latin II - 96
Literature and Composition II - 84
EC: Flood and Beta Club
GPA: 3.5
I know these aren’t that bad, because there are people with lower GPA’s, but I want to go to UGA, and my Sophomore year was to help me and boost my GPA (took two other Honors and AP, but got out of both) I wanted to see if I can go to community college and improve and maybe be transferred, but I am not sure if that is possible. The only problem is, since I want to go to medical school and they need me to take core classes in a university, should I go into a moderatly ranked university? Here are next year Juniors classes
Junior: (Predictions)
AP U.S. History - B
AP Environmental Science - B
IB Math Studies - B
Advance Algebra (Teacher recommended me to take Pre-Calculus, and take Advanced Algebra online) - A/B
Latin III - A
American Literature - A
AP Biology or AP Physics A (not sure) - B
Real World Enterprises - A
GPA: Don’t Know, hopefully better than prediction!
The only problem is, since I want to go to medical school and they need me to take core classes in a university, should I go into a moderatly ranked university? If I graduate with a 3.7-3.9 with a mediocre SAT/ACT score, will I get into any good universities in-state (Georgia)?
