Im going into my senior year of high school and I need to decide whether I should do AP Calc or AP Stats. Pre-calculus was my worst grade I’ve ever had and I assume Calc would just be harder. I’ve heard that Calc is useless to a nursing major and I wanted to see which would be better for me to take, since many urge Calc for some reason. Thank you!
Yes, calc is useless for nursing. Most nursing programs require a stats class.
For senior year, the most important thing is to put lots of energy into an AP-level bio or anatomy class.
Take AP Stats - it is more useful for a nursing major. Just make sure that none of the schools you are interested in require that you take Calculus.
I should clarify that most nursing schools require a stats class as part of their college curriculum, not in high school. However, taking stats in high school will be helpful to you when you are taking the college stats class.
