In the summer I am will be taking Calculus based Physics the 1st course . I need to think Calculus 2. I was thinking taking Calculus 1B in the summer and 1C in the fall at quarter CC. Or just taking Calculus 2 at semester CC. If I take 1B in summer and 1C in fall divide the work for into 2 quarters? Physics and 1B starts and finish at same time, while the Calculus 2 starts 2 weeks later. I am trying to decide what class will be best for the summer.

So the two choices are:

A) Physics and 1B in summer, both start at same time. Then take 1C in fall

B) Physics and Cal 2 in summer, Cal 2 starts 2 weeks later.

All classes will be at different colleges.

not really sure what would be best...i think you just need to ask yourself how strong are you mathematically. i am going to assume that all the classes end at the same time, even though they may not start at the same time. if you think you are going to be fine with less time learning calc then take the second option...that will give you a two week break to just focus on physics. but if you need more time with calc, then start them at the same time. the only downside of starting everything at the same time is that it may be a lot to take on all at once but it is not unmanagable.

Physics / 1B is June 30 - August 9 while cal 2 july 14 to aug 21

well since they are the same length of time....do you want to take your finals at the same time or have them separate? and does it matter to you to finish 2 weeks later?

Will like how if I take calc 2 there is less overlap. But my question is will 1B (I would have to take 1c in fall) be half the work of calc 2 or they about the same ?

ohh i thought 1B was just calc 2 and 1C was calc 3 because i went to a semester CC. the only thing i can really say about calc 2 is that, it is difficult in the beginning....especially for me because i did not take math for a whole year so i barely remembered calc....but if you just do the homework and work at understand the methods then it really is not that hard because there are only a couple of new techniques to learn and then like a bunch of variation of them. i got like a D on my first test but got an A final grade, so the class is not that bad. but how did you do for calc 1 and do you still remember it? if you have a strong math background, i would just take calc 2 instead of splitting it up...saves you time. but if you think it would be too much work then do 1B and 1C because you are also taking physics. and yeah i think the work for calc 2 would be split in half at a quarter CC since it is only logical but not positive...sorry if i was not that much of a help.
