Hi! I'm currently a senior in high school and USC has been my dream college since 8th grade. I've visited the campus, taken the tour, talked to admissions and all that jazz and I really love the school vibe, spirit, academics, etc. However, I was rejected from Fall 2011 freshmen admission (Marshall's School of Business.) Right now, my choices are to go to UCSB for pre-communications, or Boston University for business. I want to apply for business for grad school. My question is: would it be easier/safer/better option to transfer from BU or UCSB after my freshmen year to USC? I want to go to USC as a sophomore. Is that possible? What should I do in order to have the highest chance of getting in? When should I get started with the transfer application? I am from Norcal, and had a 2100 SAT, 30 ACT, 3.8 W GPA, tons of APs, tons of extra-curriculars (student goverment, club officer, etc.), studied abroad, etc.etc. in high school. I don't mind UCSB or BU (I know they're fine schools)... it's just that I reallyreallyreally love USC. I don't want to go to community college because I don't want to risk not being able to transfer. I know it's the "best" option, but it's not my option. I would rather be stuck at BU or UCSB than a CC. So it'll be great if I can get some insight on the transfer process to USC and whether I should do it from BU or UCSB (I know there's a transfer thread but I want an answer to my specific question.) Thanks!
