SAT or ACT?

No contest, the SAT is a better test.

At is ***** i hate it i would tAkE act sat doen't in anyway measure nything but how well you knwo the st i say this w/o taking the act + a 2200 on the sAt trust better test by fAr .

mavman100 slurs his typing too much.
this is a very common question. there is no easy answer. whatever works best for you. virtually all colleges accept both.
in the midwest, the ACT is more popular, nationwide, the SAT is more popular.
The ACT is more knowledge-based, while the SAT is more thinking-based. The ACT is very mathematical and scientific, while the SAT is more verbal. For the SAT, know your vocabulary. For the ACT, learn to read really really fast. That's why I dont like the ACT beacuase I'm a slow reader.

i lie the act because thes sat just doen't test any abilitis for y as a student .. who is the better student , the one who gets straite A's and studies the materila he is given to a tact but is unable to see uder the tricks of the sAt , or the inversE..

mavman100, when I read your posts I imagine Ali G :D

Penalty for bombing the ACT are MUCH LESS since colleges will only see the score you CHOOSE to send, unlike the SAT where your whole darn test-taking history is shown. People ask, "Do colleges think it's weird/ do they look down upon you if you take the SAT multiple times?" Not sure about the answer but they will know how many SATs you took. Not the case with the ACT!!!

SAT.

I hate the timing on the ACT way too much.

You're right about that. Especially the science!

Totally depends on you. You have to look at the differences between each test and see which one you like better.

For me, ACT. Score choice and none of the trickiness of the SAT.
