Your background is pretty good. No, you are not out of your league. Duke is the hardest- other two should be fine. What about Rice, UT Austin, Rochester, University of Pennsylvania?

university of rochester is an AMAZING school. it's considered to be ivy caliber education. if you want to pursue medicine, U of R's med school is one of the top 40 in the nation. Simon School of Business is in the top 30 of the nation. and Eastman School if Music is number one.

Consider these schools as well:
Washu, Vanderbilt.

Have you considred Brandeis? The school has a strong pre-med program and, this past year, in interests of campus diversification, was especially reaching out to students with Asian backgrounds by granting many merit scholarships.

I had a very similar decision except I was considering Wash U instead of Emory, although they are pretty similar. I ended choosing Duke but that is a decision you, and only you, will be able to make. You don't have to worry about academic caliber since they are all pretty similar.

Duke is hardest to get into out of those three, but not the "hardest to get out of" as JHU seems to have the toughest premeds

JHU and Emory look like math-reaches, Duke's harder to get into and has more name recognition, but you can't go wrong with either of the three. If anything, I'd say it comes down to JHU and Duke if you have that great choice.

Duke for admissions will be the hardest. If you get into all three, I'd say definitely go for Duke. Price is about the same for all 3 with Duke giving you the best name and education.

Best value, by far, would be UT Austin. UCLA, Michigan still cheaper than Emory and Duke and as good.

CalX - there's a reason why people go to elite private schools like Duke and top places like Emory over places like Mich and UCLA despite the lower costs

If costs were no issue, I would definitely go to a school like Michigan over Emory, purely on academic grounds.

Can you elaborate on the reasons for which you would prefer to go to Emory over Michigan?

Not really any for Emory, don't know much about it.

In Duke's case, a much more competetive/selective student body, great deal of name recognition, not a safety school like Michigan or UCLA are often treated, one of the top feeder schools into grad programs, and other such reasons - this is based on undergrad, which is what really matters in this discussion.

I'm not sure whether its the Duke education or the type of students that go to Duke, but either way its a superior choice to the other schools mentioned. Same with its peer schools like Dartmouth and Brown. These top privates offer much more to top students.

With Emory, I'm sure the same things apply but to a lesser degree, but your right, I can't back it up.

agree with ^
i think many students who go to schools such as duke/jhu/emory, including myself, think of state schools, despite their academic achievements, as safety schools. Plus, at private institutions such as duke, you are surrounded by students of the same caliber whereas at a public state schools such as UofI, the selectivity is not as intense.

Rice instantly came to mind.

Duke hands down overall, but admission wil be tough with your stats even ED (25% is my guess). I think ED JHU you are 50% in, and well over 50% in ED at Emory.

I would say Duke is highly unlikely and JHU and Emory would be below 50%. Emory would be more likely of these two. URochester would be a solid school that would be a fair bit more likely.

Actually gellino is probably right. I would ED Emory if I were you. Duke is a HUGE reach.
