BEWARE! DO NOT ATTEND! CUA making major changes they won't tell you about, but I will!

CUA is undergoing major changes in their “renewal” process, and have not been transparent in this process. In fact, the
first we learned about it was only a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, these changes will negatively impact my daughters choice of major, and left us scrambling because we learned of these changes after the deadline to transfer at many colleges.

Please be thoughtful and expect major changes ahead. I wouldn’t wish the situation we have been served on anyone. The rug has been pulled out from under us!!
Expect severe faculty cuts, classes taught by adjunct professors in cost cutting measures, yet overly paid, non communicative administration. Enrollment at Catholic University is way down, and for good reason.

My daughter is a sophomore and has invested an incredible amount of time and money toward her major, only to have it taken away, What a complete waste of time and money, Administration has not been at all helpful.
At this point, due to the lack of communication by administration regarding the changes at CUA, my daughter will have to take a semester off and transfer in January. It is unfortunate because her plans for a semester abroad have also been shelved.
My goal in sharing this is to warn other prospective students and parents because CUA will not tell you the truth about what is going on!

The facts about the University’s Academic Renewal Plan can be found here - https://provost.cua.edu/academic-renewal/index.cfmhere.

This plan is currently under final review by the University’s Academic Senate, with a vote scheduled for May 9. The final stage before implementation would be Board of Trustee approval in early June.

The Provost has conducted meetings with undergraduate students across an array of disciplines, and the plan has been modified in some areas based on specific feedback from undergraduates.

Catholic University is not eliminating any undergraduate programs.
