Beyond the Results Threads: Experiences of Harvard Students

<p>Well, I have noticed that the most popular threads on CC are often the results threads for top colleges. Many students are often perplexed about why some students got rejected and other accepted. They have often reasoned that it is not the numbers that mattered the most, but rather the personal experienced these students had, how they changed for the better, and their unique personalities. Thus, I think it would be more beneficial if some Harvard students might post a short biography about themselves in high school, or is this just another one of my horrible ideas?</p>

<p>in fact, the reason Harvard is so great is because it doesn’t accept students based on grades, but personality, roughly speaking.</p>

<p>^ What your essays were about, if you used any unique writing styles (I know a fellow who got into UPenn and his supplement was a poem written in iambic hexameter), anything else that you thought made them choose you over others and a bit about your life.</p>

<p>I don’t think it’s a good idea. All it’s going to do is make prospective H students believe there is some personality model after which they should try to model themselves.</p>
