BFA Acting at USC? (And also some double degree/major questions)

Hey guys,

I’m thinking about going for this BFA Acting program at USC.

Are there any international students in this program? And how much networking is actually done during the program so that international students (or students in general) can get the opportunity to get a work afterwards? (It’s a long shot I guess)

And if anyone can actually answer or know stuff about this, some tips would be great. I have heard that USC encourages double majoring/degrees and I am also interested in Chemical Engineering. So if I were to do a double with ChemEng and Acting, that may take me 5 years. Will USC allow me (if I do get to win a scholarship) to go for 5 years or just do 4 years at the school?

How do double degrees work at USC? I know that some G.E. requirements will not be necessary for the second major? But how would I count the total units necessary?

Also, in relation to applying for a double, should I mention that I would like to do both in my application? Or should I enroll first and try to apply to the other degree afterwards? (I don’t really know how this works though)

Thanks!

Hey hey. One of my best friends is going to USC this upcoming school year. He was accepted to the BFA, but opted to do the BA instead. In order to double major, you’d have to be part of the BA, not BFA. The BFA program is extremely intense at USC (as it is at most conservatory programs), so there would be no time or room to double major or minor. If double majoring is important to you, I’d recommend a BA (or perhaps a BFA at NYU or something where double majoring is allowed).

@actorboy27 thx for the heads up man!
