Hi there. When and how did you receive notice from Penn State acting? We are waiting for that one too.
Okay I saw it was on the portal. Nothing for my D on her portal. Did she get an email telling her there had been an update to the portal?
@tennessee1 I asked him and he said she hadn’t. She checked portal this week and it had been there since 2/25
So I take it you all haven’t had a portal update, either, @jbmama ?
I don’t think she got an email but I am not sure. I would ask her, but I am only permitted 3 questions about college a week and I have already used my quota.
No. No portal update yet for us! Let me know when you do and I’ll do the same!
I saw today that theater students are doing Instagram takeovers of the Rutgers Mason Gross (MGSA) Theatre page (rutgers_theater) starting tomorrow (3/3) for the next month. It looks like profiles and behind-the-scenes features will be included, if anyone is interested in following along.
Update. She also got a welcome packet in the mail today.
That’s hilarious. I am under similar rules.
Hey ya’ll. Just saw on another (MT) thread that someone that a poster knows on that thread got a Carnegie acceptance this week. Not sure if it was MT or acting. Anyone here heard from Carnegie?
My son just got his BFA in Acting acceptance from UCONN today. We are so happy for him! It’s been a long journey.
Yes!!! Congratulations!! So sorry you had to wait for it- but thrilled for him and you!!
It’s been a long week, but we got a great ending
woohooo!!! Congrats to you both!
had this SAME question haha!
I also had the same question
It’s interesting, I see very little about CalArts on this thread, yet I always thought it was a well known and highly respected acting program. Is it only well known to Californians and is it considered a niche school to theatre students in other states? I’m curious to hear outside perspectives.
I’m sorry I can’t help with callback info for CalArts as previous years were very different. Students simply submitted their application, and were given an audition. There were no prescreens and no callbacks.
My daughter auditioned during Chicago Unifieds and absolutely loved CalArts. Everything they told them in the pre audition chat excited her. She felt it was an excellent fit for her. She had, what she considered a great audition with interaction and positive feedback from them. They were in her top three for schools she wanted to attend.
Oddly, I don’t have the date the No Thank you arrived via email, but when it did she was quite disappointed. I do remember that I saw acceptances on social media LONG before she ever got the No email. I never saw any acceptances on this board, but instead saw kids tagging CalArts on Insta (yes, I was that crazy trying to find news). I want to say notification was at the very end of March, after USC (which notified March 27th last year)
Fingers crossed for all waiting to hear!
I’m an international students and I hadn’t heard about the school until I started doing research to narrow down my list of programs. It’s interesting because I also had rarely heard anyone talk about the program but when I was doing research it constantly showed up in reviews and articles as a highly respected school. Now that I know more about the curriculum it is definitely my top choice and I think that it should definitely be talked about more!
