BFA Acting Class of 2023: preparation, prescreens, auditions, questions and support

Just wanted to share that my D received an email this morning from Univ of Michigan with an invitation for an in-person audition for their BFA Theatre Performance Acting program. She applied on 10/23, and submitted her Artistic Profile on 10/26. We were informed that RD applications will start to be reviewed after the RD 12/1 deadline and that we would receive invitations around 12/21. So we got ours early!

Similar here… D submitted for U Michigan Acting BFA on 10/14 and was notified of passing on 11/06.

D submitted for Pace FTVC last week and passed for the live audition today.

Anyone hear from Chapman on pre-screen results yet for EA/ED applications? They should be out any day…

Anyone have an idea when Ohio will notify acceptances with their new direct admit to BFA?

Hi there, we heard from Chapman prescreen results on 11/13, and submitted the application and creative supplement for regular decision at the end of September.

We are still waiting as well to hear from Chapman!! My D submitted her prescreen for early action in October. I believe towards the end of the month !!

Thanks @Jazzycats & @HPDbfa - hopefully we will hear no later than tomorrow. Early auditions are next week!

My D is also waiting to hear back from Chapman following prescreen submission October 25. I am crossing my fingers big time!!

Hi @Jazzycats @222mom @ddakdm - have you heard anything from Chapman? I called and was unable to get any specific information. Sounds like possibly prescreen reviews for EA/ED are finished. BUT, the theater department doesn’t send out the emails. Central admissions does. So admissions may still be reviewing applications before sending out the emails… please post if you have heard anything or not. Thanks.

No word yet!!! Still waiting. Hoping we find out today. Travel plans need to be made.

have not heard on chapman prescreen yet for my D who submitted on Sept. 28th.

Unfortunately I haven’t heard back anything yet… Starting to think they might not tell us if we didn’t get it

I would like to think that they tell you either way !

My understanding is Chapman will tell us one way or another. Pass, no pass, or defer temporarily to Regular Decision Pool.

Just think of waiting for prescreen results as a practice round of waiting for audition/admission results. Breathe deeply, get your zen on and go do something unrelated to admissions to pass the time.

My daughter finally got an email to register for the UNCSA audition. If they haven’t already, tell your kids to check their email!

@Gapyearguru Also got the email and audition booked today.

Hi! I’m new here and looking forward to learning more about the college process. My D is applying to about 10 colleges for BFA in MT or Acting. I just have to say any child who is able to complete the application / prescreens / audition prep and financial aid stuff on their own is a success in my book! I am so overwhelmed with helping with her 10 or 11 college applications. How do you all manage 20 or more?!

Don’t know what to think since Early Action auditions are just over a week way for Chapman. Still no word on prescreens. Thinking the admissions dept. will be closed today. Anyone hear anything at all from Chapman over the last couple of days?
