Anyone know the amount of time before an audition that it is still appropriate to reschedule?
Have any of you heard anything from USC yet about audition scheduling ?
Nothing from USC yet @molbfaj - probably next week, based on looking at last years CC thread.
Late to the party here but d is in midst of BFA audition frenzy. Anyone here audition at Baldwin Wallace in November or have feedback on their BFA program? We just got word d has been accepted. Would love to hear if anyone has knowledge about the program. She’s also attending Chicago unifieds.
@tryingsohard I think you can reschedule at anytime as long as there are still open slots to change to. My D rescheduled a couple of her Chicago Unified Times For February just last week.
@morgan830 was she accepted for BFA Acting or MT? The MT program is exceptional.
@nyermom - after reading a couple of people asking about which schools attended Unifieds I started a “Master List of Unified Schools” thread on the MT board. Acting folks please add on to the list and maybe we can link it over here as well. There really should be a better clearing house for audition info! But since there isn’t…
@morgan830 - congrats to your D! One of our class of 2022 is attending BW for Acting and is very, very happy there!
Update on where we are so far. DS has been accepted both academically and artistically to the following:
Univ. of Neb- BFA full ride scholarship
Univ. of Houston- BFA partial scholarship
SUNY Purchase- BA partial scholarship
The New School- BFA partial scholarship
Loyola NO- BFA partial scholarship
Accepted artistically waiting on academic acceptance:
CCM
Accepted academically waiting on artistic acceptance:
Evansville
He has about 13 scheduled auditions for Unifieds. Now we wait.
@CaMom13 Thank you!
@AUDITIONMGR acting. She didn’t audition for mt but we saw their show when we were there and it was phenomenal
@CaMom13 Thank you for the list! I should peruse the MT board more often since the focus is often similar.
@nyermom - my D applied for both but last year I read this board more since the MT board stressed me out! It’s a really arduous and stressful application process, I know Acting applications are plenty hard… but MT is even harder!
Just wanted to share…it looks like Pace University has started to send out academic acceptance letters. My D got an email today to check her application status portal. And there she received a letter congratulating her on her academic admission. She also received an Honors Scholarship for $15,000 and the Honors Opportunity Scholarship for $10,000, renewable for each of her four years; the total value of the awards will be $100,000. In addition to her merit scholarship award, she has also been awarded a Resident Scholars Award of $3,000 per year as long as she resides on-campus in a Pace University residence hall. Now, she just has to pass her audition!
@love2share that’s awesome!! I got a similar letter and I’m really happy!! do you know if the scholarship money is applicable to the bfa programs? If it isn’t I’m gonna be so sad because it’s such a good scholarship
@procrastin8ter Thank you. After acceptance from the auditions, official financial aid award letters still need to go out, so we’ll see.
That’s good news @love2share! My D also got accepted academically to Pace with the same scholarships. She got her letter on 11/30, so I guess these have been going out in batches maybe for the past couple of weeks.
@SoCalPops Congrats! Yes, they’re probably going out in batches.
D just got email that she passed UCLA prescreen! She booked her audition for onsite at UCLA. What was interesting is that there were about 250 audition slots in total over all the audition dates, both onsite and unifieds. A lot fewer than I had thought. That was just acting though. There’s another schedule for MT students, and some other tracks like playwriting.
D got a letter yesterday from Adelphi University (they don’t do email or portal notifications). She passed her audition and has been recommended for a talent scholarship. That’s two artistic acceptances so far (LIU-Post BFA MT) - good to have a couple in the bag before the holidays start.
