@molbfaj Did you hear that from Pace? I saw somewhere else on these forums that they send letters for BFA acting and BFA FTVC? It’s so hard trying to piece this all together!
Thank you for that! ?
Do all acceptance calls typically go out on the same day? Or does that vary by school?
Congratulations to your son, @HPDbfa ! I LOVE his attitude!
Sorry, meant to direct my question to @love2share Does Pace call with acceptances for all of their programs? I had read on the forum that they send letters for those programs. (I personally have no idea!) Did you hear directly from Pace that they’re calling next week? Thank you!
@dramama3 Someone who attended Pace Acting and FTVC auditions last weekend said that at the Info Session, Pace said that letters will be going out this Saturday. According to my notes, Pace made phone calls to admitted students, and letters and WL were sent via mail last year. I heard from Pace that they will be making calls next week.
DD got an email from Minnesota Guthrie saying waitlisted. Wondering if all the kids who went to the callback weekend get either accepted or waitlisted. It sure is better than the no’s she’s heard lately.
@2artskidz Congrats on WL at Minnesota. My D is a sophomore in the program. No… not all callback kids get either an offer or a waitlist. I understand the initial offer list and the WL are about the same length. This year’s freshman company is about half-and-half initial offers to WL. It’s not always that way, but that gives you an idea. There is a lot of shifting before things settle in. Hang in there and BAL!
@BelleHankmom I think while it is important to cast a wide net, it is also important to consider fit, cost of applying/auditioning, etc. The counselor advice of 10 is applicable to regular academic programs, and we heard the same at our school (PA) as a lot of the kids end up pursuing non-performing arts degrees. In our case my D knew exactly where she wanted to be (NYC) and that narrowed it down significantly, even more so after we visited most schools there and she knew Pace and MMC were also not where she could see herself. I convinced her to apply to a couple of more schools in our home state (one is our state university where she is in for non-auditioned BA Theatre program), and DePaul after hearing so many great things about it from this board. Casting the widest net gives you options, but obviously not all schools would be a fit and that’s so hard to figure out ahead of time.
@2artskidz my D got WL at Minnesota as well. Still have hope. She does have a friend who got a no, so we’re 100% sure there are nos as well
@ThenSheSaidIt my D was WL at U Minn as well. I saw from your post WL and initial acceptances are same amount? I just sent a PM
Did anyone hear from Fordham yesterday? This waiting game is torture but we will get through it.
@AustinMomof4 my D is waiting on Fordham as well. I do know that they slowly send out acceptances, and if you look at their Facebook group for accepted students, there are only 15 members, and that group includes all theatre acceptances (directing, playwriting, performance etc). I would guess that they aren’t done notifying yet.
@AustinMomof4 and @Gapyearguru my S received his Fordham acceptance 3/1 via email. He received the official packet in the mail yesterday, 3/8.
@AustinMomof4 and @Gapyearguru, like @collegeadmiss, my daughter also received Fordham email acceptance on 3/1 and received packet yesterday thru the mail. She has not joined their FB group. I didn’t realize they have these groups on FB. Is it for students that have just been admitted or have accepted their offer?
Have not heard from Fordham either. Wonder if they only send acceptances first.
My D also got the Minnesota waitlist message via Acceptd yesterday. We are also still waiting on Fordham!
@NYDreammom I was wondering the same. It would help to know even if it is bad news. My D is handling this process way better than I.
@gish814 Congratulations on Fordham! As for the Facebook pages, the way it worked last year, at least for 3 schools (Guthrie, UNCSA and Syracuse) was that it was set up with all Accepted Students, plus a few administrators. Eventually, once you turned down an offer, you were removed from the page. It’s fun to see the others Accepted and share information.
@AustinMomof4 Indeed! I think my D is too - she just doesn’t want to talk about “colleges” (meaning the waiting game) any time I bring it up or ask about news from her classmates. If she only knew how I’m glued to this board
