@dramama3 My D’s friend got an acceptance into the BA Acting program at Pace today. Not sure if it was a call or email.
@SoCalPops that’s true about the academic levels needed to get into NYU but Macy did literally found the Atlantic Acting Studio. You’d think his kid would get a pass on that alone.
I agree @love2act - I just picked NYU and USC as I know SAT scores matter at those two prestigious schools. I don’t know specifically which schools their daughter was angling for, but USC is featured prominently in this scandal.
Considering Macy was at Chicago unifieds with her I’m assuming that she is applying everywhere that our kids are.
D just got news she was accepted to Skidmore! Nice to balance out the list. Congrats to the other acceptances this week so far. Looks like its going to be a busy week 
@SoCalPops I heard an interview today in which Macy talks about how his daughter is/was auditioning at NYU. And it is incredible that his name alone–much less his association with ATC–wouldn’t be enough of a hook. Can you imagine if, a couple of years ago, any of these people had funded need-based scholarships at their favorite schools for the same amount of money? I have to believe that the AC would have looked favorably on it.
This story about Macy shows how shallow some people are. I read he was lamenting recently how stressed his daughter was about the college application process. I guess they figured they’d buy some cheap insurance to boost her SAT scores. Funny thing is, a low SAT wouldn’t prevent a celebrity’s kid from getting admitted, as long as her acting was at least adequate.
Has anybody else still not heard from UNCSA? We have not heard yes, no or waitlist and I know it’s been while since people were posting…we are assuming it’s a no but find it odd we haven’t heard yet
@gapyearguru And in this game of musical chairs, we have to figure that his kid takes a spot at NYU and maybe UCLA or USC, which then puts 3 other kids on the WL, who in turn decide to rely on their own 2nd or 3rd choice schools, which exacerbates the bottle neck of spots that we’re all dealing with. It will be interesting to see if any of the acceptances get rescinded (not that we’ll know specifically), but maybe those WLs will be more fluid this year.
One good thing: the topic has replaced phone calls, emails, and portals as personal obsessions. 8-|
Isn’t Tisch test optional? Why would Macy be worried about SAT scores for his daughter at that school?

programs at NYU that require an artistic review are test optional… but there are still pretty rigorous academic standards. And I get the sense that they still encourage test scores as part of that
FYI it seems that Macy and Huffman followed through with the cheating scheme for their oldest daughter who is already in college. The affidavit says: “Ultimately HUFFMAN and her spouse decided not to pursue the SAT cheating scheme for their youngest daughter.”
It wouldn’t surprise me if Macy’s daughter takes a gap year. Or never goes to college at all now.
Oh no, I misunderstood the ages of Macy’s/Huffman’s daughters. The oldest one IS the one embroiled in the scandal right now while applying to drama programs. Mystifying!

Has anyone heard from BFA acting? If you think my S hasn’t heard anything back at this point, it’s a no/waitlist?
No news here from Pace either. It is what it is … at our house we are just trying to breathe and go about our business.
S received email from PACE yesterday. Acceptance into BA Acting (IPE). S is very happy. Now we have to decide if we can afford it.
