@MTmom019 Thank you! We are grateful for the choices.
@MomMimi Kudos to your S for being honest in his interview and putting good karma into this whole process!
Congrats @love2share !!!
@danielle6183 Thank you!
Thank you so much for your very detailed response @actorparent1! I’ll definitely take you up on the PM offer!
Congratulations to all of our brilliant young kids! This is our second time through this and so we are asking lots of questions that we didn’t know to ask last time! One thing I would like to pass on is that many acting schools have student manuals that they will share with you. These manuals will help you know what is required and what is requested and you can see if anything doesn’t work for your children. I didn’t know that the schools had these specific manuals last time. I’m going to read them before we choose.
@BelleHankmom can you find any of these manuals online? Can you name a few that do? Thanks!
@HPDbfa I would search for “Student Handbook” on the schools’ websites or email the Theatre program coordinators/admissions for a copy.
So Webster appears to be making phone calls. For MT anyway. Anyone here gotten an acting acceptance call?
Is there anyone left who (like us) still has not heard anything from Pace? I’m not sure it’s the first choice over S’s other options right now, but the OCD part of me is just oddly curious because we have heard nothing at all …
I know that Mason Gross provides a student manual online for its students. I am still looking for them in the schools that my son has been accepted to, some schools call them student handbooks not manuals - sorry for the word confusion. I was personally looking for things like casting and nudity requirements. But there is generally additional information that may be interesting for your kids.
Ithaca has a pretty good handbook online for performing arts students. Looks like they really put a lot of thought into it and I think it’s pretty informative.
Does anyone have information about or a child at Elon in the acting program?
Fordham waitlist question for anyone that has insight to the process…Does Fordham have a waitlist for theater and performance? or is it only for academic admission? The waitlist confirmation form listed some options that made us wonder…and then an email response from the department has us confused even more.
Fordham’s letter was confusing. My D was waitlisted but it seems like it’s for the general college and it’s a No for the Theatre program.
I have a quick question for anyone who auditioned for OKCU. I did a walk-in at New York Unifieds for the BFA in acting. I got a letter in the mail saying I was accepted to the school. When I went on my BlueLink, it says that I am accepted to the School of Theatre with an undeclared program and a major pending review. Did anyone get this? I also was told that to be accepted in the School of Theatre you need to audition. I have emailed but not heard anything back.
We have not heard from Pace yet either. UGH! We have been eagerly checking the mail box every afternoon!!!
@MomMimi I know my D’s good friend is still waiting to hear from Pace (her top choice).
@MomMimi we are waiting on Pace toooo. Sending positive thoughts for our actors. We’ll have answers soon!
Great advice @BelleHankmom! We are looking through the handbooks to see what the different programs require and offer!
