@yourmama99 , my friend’s child received an email telling them to check their portal. An official acceptance email followed a couple of hours later. HTH!
@sarahsmom02 - hang in there! Her future is bright and life is long. Many BFA programs require academics and many BFA go-getters find themselves continuing with their academic studies while they blossom as artists.
Update on FSU from @All4FSU
Re: FSU
Emails will be going out via the Admissions portal this week- the Office of Admissions had a technical hiccup that delayed the notifications.
Acceptance calls were made on 2/24 and 2/25, and alternate/waitlist letters were mailed on 2/25.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, or want to follow up, please don’t hesitate to email or call.
Michele
Penn State is notifying today for BFA Acting ;))))))
DD just got this email from Fordham:
As we finalize our admission decisions, we ask that you make sure you are ready to access your decision online. We are planning to make your admission decision available on your Online Applicant Portal in the afternoon of March 13th.
According to our records, you have activated and accessed your portal account. Thank you.
Please make sure you access your decision through the Online Applicant Portal when we send you the notification email on March 13th.
Still surprised some have heard already. I think I’ve heard of two. I swear I thought the admissions rep said they notified all at once.
Thanks for sending this info from Fordham! We hadn’t heard anything.
Does anyone know when Guthrie or CalArts decisions are being released?? Thank you!
@SalahNik at Guthrie callback weekend Deb said around or on the 15th
When do CalArts decisions come out?
D just got accepted to Chapam BFA in Theatre Performance. Would love to talk to any parents or students who attend.
Congratulations to your d!!! That is awesome news!!!
Thank you @anastasiasmom. Being a gap year kid having 2 acceptances so far is awesome!
@username231 Last year CalArts was rolling with everyone notified by April something.
Congrats @Abutilon - so happy for your D!
Anyone have any intel on the BFA Acting at Illinois Wesleyan? Would love to hear thoughts/experiences about the program…especially in regards to how easy it is to also get voice and dance training and/or audition for productions. I know @QballMom might have some of the same questions.
I have never called an admissions office, but I did call Fordham today. I’ve heard of 3 or 4 who have gotten emails with admission offers but many more who received email that decision will be available online by 3/13. I talked to Sarah Dougan. and asked if the email to check on 3/13 was really a rejection or waitlist decision. She said it wasn’t, but they were doing rolling admissions emails until 3/13. We will have to wait and see. Hate the timing because my daughter is in a play that night.
@yourmama99 so it sounds like the offers are not done, and there is a chance you will get an email directing to portal status change prior to 3/13; but definitely by 3/13 everyone will have an answer…I appreciate the transparency at least! Thanks for the update!!
When my d took a tour of the school she asked about voice lessons. There is a $1000 scholarship that can (you apply for it) help cover the cost of voice lessons and Acting students can take dance lessons (as long as there is room in the class). We heard that they are trying to get more dance classes. The students there are very nice and supportive and so is the faculty. Oh and scholarships are stackable. Ask the admissions people and the faculty to get the details. They have been very responsive to questions.
Does anyone have the numbers on BU - how many they audition and how many they accept?
@DivaStageMom
BU auditioned over a thousand last year hoping for an incoming class around 35. Their yield is getting smaller and smaller each year, but Last year it was 60-70.
