That was a final audition (they don’t do callbacks - as far as I understand). She should hear back late February/early March
@insdiego UNCSA doesn’t do callbacks and they won’t notify until after their auditions are completed on 2/20, so don’t give up hope yet. I read that UNCSA did call a select few recently to tell them to save the date for accepted students day, but there will be more calls. My daughter has not received a CalArts, so your daughter should feel good about getting one! In my mind, any callback is a good sign!! Hang in there. I know this process is grueling!!
Oh, so UNCSA Acting has only the one single online audition — no Prescreen and no Callback?! I guess there is still hope. She really likes that program! Thank you
Yep! Fingers crossed for your daughter <3
I do not believe that UNCSA does any call backs. Some kids have gotten phone calls but unless your daughter got a firm, I don’t believe that she is out of contention. The worst part of this process (well not the worst part, that would be the expense) is that things are not clear and every school is different! So excited that we are at the end of this crazy process, now to wait!
This is really helpful! Thank you very much!
Anyone else anxiously awaiting news from Carnegie Mellon tomorrow?
Yes, trying not to think about it, since it’s such a long shot, but can’t help ourselves!
So the CMU email was not very exciting. Just says we now have to wait until late March.
My D received a different CMU email inviting her to a FINAL acting audition.
My daughter got the we’ve seen enough and you’re still in the running email. So now we wait. BAL to those who are going for another callback!!!
Same here…we’ve seen enough and we will be in touch. Hmmmm. I guess that means they’re still in the running. Curious what the invite to the final acting audition email said, @theatremom1314
My S got the same we’ve seen enough, be patient email. I am dying to know what your D’s coach makes of this latest plot twist…
He said pretty much what the email said – that they’ve seen what they need to see and that we will hear later. But he also said that if they weren’t interested, they would have said that.
Just that she’s invited for a final acting audition on the 20th and they want a 3rd faculty member to see her.
Did your kids all have two other auditions? She had one MT and then two Acting, and this will be the 3rd acting although they’re saying it’s Round 5 of the auditions. They told us that she is only being considered for Acting after the first singing audition.
My daughter was always just acting. Her last audition was called round 4, but we don’t know what round 3 was (lmao)! She submitted the prescreen, had the first live audition with one faculty member, and then the callback audition with a different faculty member (called round 4).
Thanks for that. So perhaps there are 3 possible letters out there?
Well I wish everyone auditioning again with CMU this weekend the best! I’ve only heard of 2 emails — wait until March and audition again this weekend. Is anyone aware of a 3rd iteration?
I was wondering if anyone got a no today and/or how many are in the final callback. How many or should I say few do they even accpept?
I believe they take 12! And my D said there were probably about 30 slots for the final auditions.
