Hi!
I have my Syracuse Drama interview in a week (final step for that program I believe), and I was wondering whether anybody here has already done it and could tell me a bit about the experience.
Also any info about Fordham/DePaul callbacks and UNCSA audition (I have all of those in the next few weeks too) would be super appreciated!
My daughter is a freshman Acting major at Syracuse and loves the program. She applied early decision last year for acting and had the BS in Drama as her second choice .This year is different so I don’t have any insight but hope all goes well for you . If you have any questions about the program feel free to message me.
Hi, can you share any information about how the interview/audition is structured? Ten minutes seems like such a short time to allow for doing both monologues and talking to the faculty.
Does anyone know whether BU College of Fine Arts sends prescreen rejection emails? I know some schools don’t, and it’s been a while since I sent my prescreen. I’d like to know whether I’ll be notified if I’m no longer under consideration, since lack of a callback isn’t indicative of this for the School of Theatre.
Fordham only gives five!!! I’m very confused as to how that’s going to work, I can only imagine they’ll be running late. Maybe there’s no interview in the initial audition, though.
My S auditioned for Fordham. He did two monologues, got a little coaching and answered some questions there. He was then put into a waiting room with some current Fordham students before being passed on to another group where he did his monologues again and answered a couple more questions. It was short but I feel they did a good job within that timeframe in getting to know personality and talent.
My S got a rejection late yesterday, well after their deadline for hearing so I think they are still working through the list. He sent in his prescreen before December 1. This is such a crazy process, passed the prescreen for Michigan, admitted to Emerson but rejected on prescreen for BU, still waiting on Fordham prescreen which was sent in at the very last minute
My son also heard back from Rutgers today. Wondering how many people are called back. They assigned him an audition slot of 5:15 (I was surprised by the time).
My son got a callback email from them on Jan 11th. So maybe it is a great sign for your child that they don’t need to see more from them and they have not been cut either???
Hello Everyone, Has anyone been notified about UCLA for Acting callbacks? Do we know their timeline and if anyone has received updates?
My daughter applied to USC, UCLA, Cal St Fullerton and UCSD for theater or BFA majors. Only update we have is that USC is letting 60 BFA students know if they are being invited for digital callbacks in early February.
My daughter also applied for the UCLA BA program (USC also) - she has not heard from them directly (they don’t have the normal applicant portal where you might see messages as far as we can tell) but there is an entry for UCLA on her acceptd schedule page and it says “invited.” She has no idea what, if anything, that means or what is expected in response! She wants a true acting (vs broader theater) BA, not a BFA, and there are so few such programs out there, she’s (in her words) stress-refreshing her emails constantly hoping to see good news from UCLA. But I’m secretly relaxed because I have a different favorite school. ;). Bad mom.
Hi, very new here. Finally registered. My DD is a senior at a performing arts high school in Kentucky. I can’t find the thread for acceptances but here is our working list:
CCM, BFA acting
Univ. of Chicago-Illinois, BFA Theatre
Cornish College of the Arts, BFA theatre
Loyola, BA, theatre
Still waiting on callbacks at Michigan, Ithaca, and NIU. Prescreens sent to about 5 others.
Tisch was today and LIU was Saturday (it was awful. The guy totally did not want to be there and was even on his phone during the audition.)
