BFA Acting Pre-Screen and Auditions. Class of 2022 - Sharing!

@momof2lefties somewhere, somehow, I’m sure it’ll happen. I assume once everyone makes their final decisions, we’ll have some sort of thread on Final Choices? So we can all know where everyone ended up? Tell 'em to look out for each other

Congrats to everyone on their acceptances and continued hope for those still waiting for that one school! @Twoboysandadog the acceptances/rejections definitely confirm the craziness of the whole process but one thing I was reminded of when my D was going through it and that I now remind her of when she is auditioning is that the schools are not only building a class, they are building a cast and as talented as our kids need to be to make it into their class, they also need to meet the casting requirement (and, unfortunately, the schools don’t tell us what that is!).

My son was also admitted early action to Emerson for Theatre and Performance and just want to highlight the fact that it’s not BFA Acting until junior year and you have to reaudition for that. Here’s what they say on the website: “As a Theatre & Performance student you are also eligible, along with any student who completes our two year Actor Training Core, to audition for the BFA in Acting. If accepted, you would forego the schedule flexibility of Junior and Senior years, trading those opportunities for the singular focus of the BFA Acting Studio: 14 hours a week of concentrated training for two years.”

It would be pretty fun to have a CC parent get-together after all this is behind us! Congratulations to all those whose S or D got good news today.

Got a no from Fordham but it was followed by a yes from Roosevelt! Congrats to all on acceptances today!

Congrats @ginaf1102, @momof2lefties, @actingdreams @emf1959 , @vpvpbp , @proudcalidad and anyone else who got good news from Emerson! The guy who plays Alexander Hamilton in the Chicago cast is an Emerson grad. Great location in a great college town!

@Twoboysandadog Thanks for the reminder. that does not sound attractive to my S

Yes from CCPA (Roosevelt) BFA acting!
@MTmom2017 - CONGRATS!

Congratulations on all the fabulous acceptances! It’s wonderful to see so much good news on the board!

My D got into UArts today, so she’s feeling much better, knowing that she now has two schools to choose from.

@STHmom , Purchase is definitely not finished making calls yet. I spoke with both the admissions department and the theater department today, and they said that admissions just got the results from the theater department this week and they’re processing them as we speak. They said that they will be going out over the next week.

Yes from Emerson for my girl! It was soooo needed! We were feeling defeated the last couple of weeks.

So glad to see so much good news!!!

Phone call from BU - Yes!
Very surprised!

@Atreuh was it an acceptance call? If so congrats!! I thought they were reaching out tomorrow.

@breakingbarriers2018 It would! Maybe we’d have to do it via eventual-school-location or via current location, but it’d be fun to finally get together after all this.

has anyone heard from Syracuse (my friend heard from Newhouse), but nothing on the Performing Arts side. Anyone hear anything from VPA?

@emf1959 - yes, it was a phone call to my son. The woman (not Micaela) told him he was accepted to the program.
I checked the portal. No update.

My D just got wait-listed at Roosevelt for BFA Acting. Shes a little disappointed but still hopeful! Not sure what the chances are from here but we’re trying to keep it positive over here.

Just read on multiple sites (to be sure) that BU decisions for all colleges go out tomorrow, March 17th.

@Atreuh Wow really? I just read it was tomorrow too. Wow, okay, so we wait by the phone tonight then…? Any idea whether they were calling boys first and then girls (different order than another school today?) Congratulations by the way! Wow Wow Wow! What a program! Did your S audition at Unifieds in Chicago?
