BFA Acting Pre-Screen and Auditions. Class of 2022 - Sharing!

Yes, @Rizzo2 , the movement session at Pace is the callback.

@artskids if you don’t mind me asking, what was the nature of the calls? Very curious to hear how this process plays out. And I am sure that every school is completely different in how they handle things. :frowning:

@jenniferm1973 are you interested in MT or Acting?

@jenniferm1973 Hi. If we are still discussing the nature of the Pace calls (I am getting caught up in multiple discussions) - my daughter has received three phone calls from Pace discussing admissions. She did not get a “call-back” from her BFA acting audition and we are still getting phone calls. They want her (and all of our kids) to enroll at Pace - even if they did not get into the program they would like to study. She finally sent an email to the admissions people to stop the calls and that she would not pursue their offer of admission. I have no idea if that helps you, but that was the nature of the calls from Pace.

Anyone waiting on Rutgers? How can they send call-back information on 2/20? That seems quite close to the actual callback weekend.

We’re waiting for Rutgers, @ginaf1102 . I believe the website said that they would notify people BY the 20th, not ON the 20th. So they’ll probably start notifying people this week (fingers crossed!)

We were getting lots of Pace calls too (before his scheduled audition), but they all stopped once he withdrew his application and told them he was accepted ED at another school. If you know you aren’t going to go there, you could try the same thing and withdraw.

I like your thinking, @actorparent1 !!! Fingers crossed. Legs too.

@ginaf1102 gotcha. My D auditioned for BFA Acting and did not get a callback. She had also been academically admitted several months ago. She may be getting calls from them, but I am not sure. I was just curious the nature of the calls people are receiving. Yes, she has no desire to go to Pace, except to study Acting, so perhaps we should withdraw her application.

We were contacted by the financial aid dept from school my daughter auditioned for, is this a good sign? Do schools run fasfa on everyone or students they are considering for admission?

yup same. Doesn’t mean artistic acceptance. Pace is messing with everybody!

@asd999 - I don’t think it indicates much. Most of the schools admission depts/financial aid depts seem to be separate from the performing arts admissions and follow up with prospective students regardless of the artistic outcome.

I just received information to verify financial-aid information for UNCSA
maybe this is good news
 anyone receive UNCSA info needed?

@ginaf1102 I was just cleaning out my missed calls on my house phone. Six calls from Pace in the last two months. Not one voicemail. I wasn’t home for any of these calls.

Wow, that’s interesting re UNCSA, @actingdreams . Sounds promising. My D has a male friend (I don’t want to say “boy”, because he is 21 or 22) that received a snail mail “no” from UNCSA today. This was the first of any type of notification that she has heard coming from them so far this year.

I wouldn’t read anything into the UNCSA request for more FA info - we got one today too and my daughter isn’t auditioning until this weekend!

That’s helpful to know, @owensfolks ! (That UNCSA has started mailing rejections.)

I understand Ithaca and UNCSA have both started the snail mail nos. I am usually the last one home at my house; no opportunity to hide the mail LOL.

@owensfolks curious when your D’s friend auditioned?

@owensfolks wow! I didn’t know they would send out mail so soon. Guess I’ll continue to keep hope alive

@jenniferm1973 and @actingdreams on campus in January. Can’t remember exactly when-but I know that my D gave him pointers after her 1/13 audition.
