BFA Acting Pre-Screen and Auditions. Class of 2022 - Sharing!

LOL @DramaQueen219 ! I think we should all go to these auditions with a bullhorn, and walk around announcing “IS ANYONE HERE FROM COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL???”

I think SUNY Fredonia is still accepting applications.

@actorparent1 Yes! Then we could try to guess who’s who! I would have loved to meet you and we left around 1:00 so we really could have crossed paths! Damn, maybe a cyber celebration of some kind when when all our kids find their next stepping stones? This year is an up down strange carnival ride but I’m really starting to get the enjoy it and relish it part even through the exhaustion and worry. Often my girl finds me completely annoying( shocking- I know)but next year will be way too quiet.

My S did 13 BFA acting auditions in 5 days during the Chicago Unifieds (including an on-campus @ DePaul). Some were 3-4 hours. Some were 30 minutes or less. All the auditions at the Hyatt or Palmer were basically the same with or without the parent session - except Pace. They are the only school that actually had the kids do a variety of things: one monologue; scene work with a partner; movement. All the other schools with the long block had an info session then you waited for your 10-15 min time in however they wanted to call you.

@STHmom DePaul had partner scenes and they were filmed. I will be the first to admit how wrong I have been about Pace and their passion to get their kids working (plentyful) I’m sure DePaul session wasn’t as fun (from what I could hear outside of pace)
Wishing you plenty of acceptances

I am sending good vibes out to everyone re UNCSA.

Thank you, all, for posting schools still accepting applicants. I know at least one student who may need to add a couple more possibilities. I will send his mom a note to let her know about Fredonia, Cornish, etc.

@VASkydog also SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) are still accepting applications and they give merit aid. I’m not sure how much talent aid is giving out however Savannah is gorgeous

WIU is still accepting applications and they have a MT program

@VASkydog - My knowledge is fairly parked in the Midwest. Western Michigan University is still accepting apps. BFA acting, MT, tech and a BA in theatre studies. Decisions go out late March. Also - great out of state tuition! Safe area.
Another - Illinois State university. App deadline 4/1. Well regarded program, especially in the Chicago theatre community. Probably best to act quickly, in any case. Best of luck to the applicant!
