@actorparent1 - thinking positive for your S!!!
Just waiting aroundā¦I checked the Ithaca portal. Last time I looked (before unifieds), there was an āAdmission Checklistā showing that all items are there. Now, the page is blank with this message: Your myIthaca account is unavailable at this time. If you have questions, please contact the Office of Admission at [phone number]. So that must meanā¦??? 8-|
@Atreuh itās the same thing on my Dās portal, and she was rejected two weeks ago :(.
Could be just the way admissions are processing audition results.
UGH! That sounds so frustrating! But it definitely isnāt notification time yet, right? (My D did not audition for Ithaca.) Maybe the file is in admissions hands and they are getting ready to post to the portal soon. Or itās a computer glitch. Or an invite to call Admissions on Monday. But overall its just an UGHHHHH situation.
@bfa2018 - May I ask - notification via email or snail mail letter?
Re: Ithaca, did you already see āAudition Resultsā in the āWhat we Haveā column?
It was a snail mail letter about a week after she auditioned (she auditioned on campus on February 3rd).
My S Ithaca portal is the same-not available(just looked). Audition results did move into the what we have column a week and a half ago after Chicago unifieds. We have not received anything in the mail yet.
Anyone else waiting on JMU? When you look at your MyMadison portal you see Pending for CVPA but under that there is a blurb about the housing at Wayland Hall you are offered? Auditioned back in Nov but wasnāt aware enough to apply early action. Trying to read into the unreadable!
Re: Ithaca - I think I checked the portal in late JAN ( before Chicago unified). The only item missing was Audition Results. Never checked until today.
@vpvpbp @Atreuh , I feel your pain. Portal changes without information are maddening. UNCSA Design & Production told D in a December letter that decisions would be made yesterday and that admissions would send out an email with results. No email yesterday, but Dās portal changed and a fully functioning link to pay admissions/housing deposit showed up. That is the only change. We are hoping it is a positive sign, but who knows? Could be a computer glitch, could be a mistake. No way of knowing without more information, which cannot be had over the weekend. A part of me immediately thought, āif I pay the deposit right now before they realize a glitch, theyāll HAVE to take her!ā
I feel like things were less intense when all you had to do was wait for the mailman.
FYI- Ithaca IS one of the schools that disables your portal if not accepted artistically to the program. Not the most ideal way to find out- but it is one of the things they do for rejections in addition to sending a letter via snail mail.
@vpvpbp is you PM me or email me the language you are seeing about Wayland, I can try to follow up with admissions (I teach at JMU).
We are in the process of updating portals information, but RD results will not be released until mid to late March. The academic and program admissions decisions will come together in the portal for RD applicants.
@stagedoormama - yes, that makes sense. No more rah rah banners. On to the next.
However - @momof2lefties - that looks VERY encouraging. I like your logic. Pay the deposit! :-bd
Re: Ithaca, So if you donāt get a rejection letter (my D auditioned in November!), can u still be rejected in a second wave? All info is most welcomed.
@FourStars yes. They release in waves.
Hi all, Iāve tried my best to describe every one of our auditions just in case we have future lurkers in the upcoming years looking for any info that they can find prior to auditions. I was too was a lurker
This is for Rutgers
Since weāve been on this high regarding Juilliard, I revisited the Rutgers Mason Gross Audition to see what was required. I had posted my sonās simplistic audition at Unified audition here in Chicago and I remember him saying that it was pretty straightforward. There werenāt any adjustments and Barbara said that she that he had a lovely voice. Kevin Kittle was the 2nd Auditor and recall looking at their Mason Gross Audition advice on youtube (link below) and realized that it was important for this school that you know why youād like to attend their program. My son was able to tell them what was interesting about it (location, class size, prestige, LONDON) but even still they were just āmehā so he thanked them and left. ā¦ I guess Kevin really wants to know why you want their program
The link below is an interview on how to prepare and what they are looking for.
We received the email for the Final Weekend at Juilliard. It is a very long, very planned weekend that includes non stop movement for hours upon hours upon hours ā¦ Did I say upon hours? It seems exciting if I had the stamina at my age
I hope to post about it after we return. The email states that they will notify by April 1st so Iām sure all of my hair will be out by then and I will probably need to be committed to a mental hospital for a year. Hopefully, Iāll still be breathing by then :))
@FourStars if you havenāt heard, I am sure you are still in consideration. So thatās a good thing! My guess is it shows everything has been received (for a while now?) because I believe admissions needs to clear you academically separately and then you are put āon holdā if academically admitted until the program makes decisions.
Last year my daughter got a yes via portal from Ithaca the last Friday in Feb. A letter with scholarship came a week after in March. Good luck everyone looking forward to seeing your stories class of 2018.
Any Suny Purchase notifications?
read on their site that if you accept their offer, you mist do so in writing via snail-mail. Naviance shows notifications are 3-1 but their site states 3-15. Perhaps Iām reading it wrong
Naviance also shows that someone from S HS has been accepted to Rutgers last week.
Iām interested to know if its drama/theatre/MT related. Will find out soon
