I know that U of The Arts offers this, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of other schools with such a program, or just an acting BFA that gives the students access to good singing training? Thank you so much!

URI does a BFA in acting and a minor in music

Marisa - The voice faculty at Coastal Carolina are amazing!! I believe the Acting majors can take voice classes if they can fit them into their schedules. And Acting majors can and are definitely cast in the musicals at CCU. If you have any interest in CCU you might post your question on the CCU thread in the Musical Theatre forum as the head of the program posts there regularly. Best of luck in your search!

Thank you both! I’m def looking at both of those schools!!

USC offers a wonderful BA major in Theatre with an MT minor. You can take the same acting classes with the same professors that BFA acting students take. In general, it is VERY difficult to do a BFA Acting with an MT minor. I highly suggest USC’s program. Or - try UCLA (BA in Theatre with possible MT focus). OR…Carnegie Mellon has a double major - BFA Musical Theatre AND BFA Acting…but good luck getting into that program haha…6-7 spots per gender.

Thank you! and CMU thats a laugh ;)
