Where should I be thinking about applying? What schools have the "top programs"?

Thanks for your help!

bump . . . please

More info would be helpful. What is your idea of a top program? Ivy league? (Cornell?) Being in NYC (FIT/Parsons)? State school? Private? There are quite a few options.

Not the Ivy League . … Just what are the top programs regardless of location?

Thanks again!

The two best fashion design schools in the US, and among the best in the world, are both in NYC: Parsons School of Design, and the Fashion Institute of Technology. Others that have good reps include RISD, U Cincinnati, Drexel, Kent State U, and Otis College of Design.

I am curious what feedback anyone would have about the Fashion Design program at Columbia College in Chicago.

Parson’s and FIT offer without a doubt two of the most esteemed fashion design programs in the US and you really shouldn’t have much difficulty getting your foot in the door with a degree from either schools. RISD’s apparel design program is also supposed be pretty darn good. Otis was also on the list at some point but the general consensus seems to be that Otis is in decline. If you have your sights set internationally you should also consider Central St Martin’s in London. There’s been a long standing debate about whether CSM or Parson’s has the best fashion program in the English speaking world.
