Anyone know how many students are in the BFA in Wig and Makeup Design program at Webster? How many apply each year? Just wondering…my D is a junior in high school and would like to pursue that degree. Apparently only two schools offer the BFA in Wig and Makeup Design: Webster and UNCSA unless there are more that we haven’t discovered?

A little over a year later, I am in the same boat with a junior daughter interested in this field. We thought University of Cincinnati might be an option but their program is for an MFA only. Did you learn of any more colleges? Did you get to visit either Webster or UNSCA? What colleges did your daughter end up applying to? Thank you.
I got to visit UNCSA and applied but it is incredibly difficult program to get into. The campus is wonderful and the school is great, but they only take roughly 6 people out of state and 6 people in state for their program. I’ve worked 12 shows and designed 6 and did not receive admission. Grades truly don’t matter much, they are interested in a good portfolio and resume. If she wants to get in she should make sure she has a awesome portfolio with professional pictures.
I’m so sorry that I haven’t even checked this site for SO LONG WestMIParent! My daughter applied to both Webster and UNCSA. From the very first email correspondence with each of these schools, Webster was so welcoming and accommodating, and UNCSA not so much. But my daughter still thought that UNCSA was a better school from what she had read. We went to Webster in Dec. '14 for her interview/portfolio presentation, and had an interview/portfolio presentation scheduled for UNCSA in Jan. '15. The whole time we were at Webster she totally loved everything about it, and said many times throughout our stay how much she hoped she would get in and that this is where she wants to be. We were thrilled when by the end of her visit she had an offer and a scholarship, and she said we should cancel the UNCSA trip because she’s going to Webster. I asked her if she was sure about that, and that she might want to keep the interview at UNCSA anyway so she doesn’t wonder what it was like at UNCSA etc. But she insisted, and she will be leaving the west coast to go to Webster in less than a month!! So excited for her! I wish you all the best in this crazy journey with your daughter!
