BFA - MT 2017: Thoughts on schools for non-dancers?

Hi everyone!
I’m preparing for this year’s audition season and am in the process of narrowing down my top schools.
I’m a strong singer and actor but identify as someone who “moves well” when it comes to dance due to my lack of formal training and technique.
I would like to know what people consider to be the top MT schools that are open to new/intermediate dancers. And, a random thought – Is BOCO open to taking non-dancers? I know their focus is creating triple threats by graduation, and they offer beginner dance for Freshmen.

Just a board for thoughts and concerns as we approach a busy year!

Thanks!

My S is a non-dancer and will be entering BoCo this fall as a freshman. My take (limited on conversations with other parents of non-dancing BoCo students) is that strong singers who can act (or vice/versa) and move well enough that it appears they are trainable are in the running. My S has had 6 private ballet classes, 2 private jazz classes, a smattering of group classes at his non PA HS given by the dance director. He is definitely a mover: not trained but clearly hardworking and trainable in dance. He chose to apply to Rider PPU and BoCo specifically because he wanted a strong dance program where he could be finally trained, and trained to a point where he could be hopefully considered a dancer by graduation. We fully anticipate that he will be placed in level one first year and hope he will progress by working at it.

BoCo has lots of levels of dance. Some accepted students come in with little or no dance. But they want you to be able to move.
