Hi everyone. I was just wondering what the difference was between a BFA and a BA in acting (not theatre in general, just the performing part. Although I'm not sure if one of these gives more instruction on other aspects of theatre or not)?

There has been a lot of discussion of this topic on the Musical Theater forum – if you go there and do a search you will find some threads that are relevant.

In general, a BFA will be much more focused on performance, while a BA will give you a broader exposure to other aspects of theater, such as directing or design. However, this will vary depending on the school.

Also, with a BFA, you will be spending 60 - 95% of your time in classes related to your major. The percentage with a BA is much lower, giving you the opportunity to study other subjects.
