I have read all the threads pertaining to BFA and secondary education; not much information. While there are some programs out there that specifically prepare students for theater education degrees (Emerson, etc.), I have a more narrow question. Say a student is in a professional BFA program with no 'dual' theater/education degree. Are there ways, say, by taking summer and transfer courses to get a BFA degree and teacher certification within 4-5 years? Given the load of the BFA program, is it even possible to have the free time to complete the required teaching practicums for secondary school certification? Or is the reality that one would have to go the BA Theater route so as to fulfill the teacher certification requirements? Thanks
